Service times Please note that our facilities are completely wheelchair accessible, including accessible washrooms. We also have baby changing facilities. We welcome children at our services, but should you feel uncomfortable if your children “squeak” more than usual, we have a room at the back of the church with windows into the church and speaker from the church itself so that you can still feel included in the service.
Sunday service times are: 8:30 a.m. Said service using alternatively, the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer and the Book of Alternative Services. This service includes a full sermon, as well as Holy Communion. The style is quiet and contemplative.
10:30 a.m. Choral Eucharist (meaning a service in which some parts of the words are sung), together with sermon, hymns, and Holy Communion. About once a month, the music is provided by our contemporary music team, Gospel Acclamation! Other Sundays the music is provided by a more traditional organ and choir. Nursery School and Sunday School (Church for Kids) are available at this service, which is also followed by coffee and refreshments to promote a sense of community among the members of the parish.
Please note that at St James’ Church, all baptized Christians, whether or not they are Anglicans, are welcomed and encouraged to take communion.
